For 22 years, Club Velocity has been championing music at Reading’s Rising Sun Arts Centre. This March, the team will be celebrating with a trio of acts performing at its birthday party.

The 22nd Birthday Gig is an opportunity to enjoy some favourite musicians and look to the future, while also championing the Silver Street venue that is home for many terrific acts.

Club Velocity organises a host of great events across the year, bringing together an eclectic mixture of music ensuring all genres are covered including some you’ve probably never heard of before but deserve discovering.

For the 22nd Birthday Gig, Club Velocity will be welcoming three acts, and they are promising plenty of cake.

Headlining the 22nd Birthday Gig for Club Velocity will be Ben Marwood

Reading living local legend, he has been making music for more than 25 years.

He has had albums released by Xtra Mile Recordings (Frank Turner/Skinny Lister/Beans On Toast et al).

Club Velocity says he is a songwriting genius, and he really should be bigger than a big thing. However, sometimes things just do not  appen as they really should.

This will be an opportunity to hear his songs in an intimate setting.

Also performing will be Jess Tuthill

In 2024 she released her debut album, A Beautiful Disaster. It was recorded, produced and mixed by Ed Harcourt at the Wolf Cabin, and mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios.

The likes of Kathryn Williams and Michele Stodart (The Magic Numbers) are fans.

Jess says she creates and produces great heartfelt songs about the world.

And freshly minted Baby Maker completes the lineup

This is the new guy on the block, and a great example of Club Velocity looking forward.

He is described as a one chap walking machine with beats and tunes.
