Two of the UK’s most celebrated blues musicians, Paul Jones and Dave Kelly, will return to Newbury for a one-night-only show at Arlington Arts Centre this autumn.
Founder members of The Blues Band, Paul and Dave’s musical roots stretch deep into the history of the genre.
As well as performing their own original material, they have mastered – and lived – the work of blues greats from Howlin’ Wolf and John Lee Hooker to Sonny Boy Williamson. The pair even played alongside many of these legends, forging friendships that shaped their music.
Paul Jones is widely regarded as one of the UK’s finest blues vocalists and harmonica players. After more than 25 years as the presenter of BBC Radio 2’s Rhythm and Blues show, his knowledge of the genre is second-to-none.
He is also one part of Manfred Mann, the 60s sensations that had a string of hits including 5-4-3-2-1.
