Kavus Torabi is coming to Face Bar in Reading on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, for a Future Transmissions-presented live show, with support from OT-UK (The Greenman Project).

Torabi is a British-Iranian composer, multi-instrumentalist, performer, author and broadcaster whose solo work blends autobiographical storytelling with experimental and psychedelic soundworlds.

His live performances are known for moving between the personal and the expansive, combining song-based material with more exploratory textures.

For the past decade, Torabi has fronted the long-running psychedelic band Gong, where he is also principal songwriter.

Alongside this, he is a member of the semi-modular experimental trio The Utopia Strong, and has previously been a guitarist with cult favourites Cardiacs and avant-rock instrumentalists Guapo.

Away from his band work, Torabi performs as part of a DJ duo with Steve Davis and has appeared at festivals across the UK, including a recent high-profile set at Wembley Stadium between bands during Blur’s comeback shows.

In 2021, White Rabbit published Medical Grade Music, his memoir co-written with Davis, which was named music book of the year by Shindig! magazine.

And two years ago, Torabi’s commissioned composition Lion Of The Lord’s Elect premiered at the Roadburn Festival in the Netherlands, further underlining the breadth of his work across live performance, composition and writing.

Support on the night comes from OT-UK (The Greenman Project), described as a pagan electro one-man band, bringing a stripped-back but immersive live set to open the evening.
