DESCRIPTION:The Laners Picture: Gerald Hudson\n\n\n\n“Acapella with attitude”.  \n\n\n\nThe Laners have been entertaining audiences in pubs and clubs and at festivals for more than 30 years\, and have had various formations during that time. \n\n\n\nIn the main\, we’ve been a four-piece group but we’ve been a trio since 2011.  \n\n\n\nThe current members are Clive Brooks\, Pete Grassby and Dave Tarry (now the only original member).  \n\n\n\nMost of our material comprises English traditional folk songs but we also sing some shanties and an increasing number of the many fabulous contemporary songs that are coming into the tradition.  \n\n\n\nAlmost all of our songs have big choruses\, so audience participation is mandatory; just sitting and listening is not an option. \n\n\n\nThere is no bar\, so please bring your own refreshments. A corner shop and a pub are just around the corner.
