Bargain! Dine out from £1 from Italian chains Bella Italia and Pizza Express this January in Reading (and how to get a meal for free)

And if that wasn't enough, you can also save 8% on your meal

Two Italian restaurants with branches in Reading are offering bargain meals this month, helping people save pennies after the big festive blow-out.

Bella Italia offers a £5 main course …

There is a branch of Bella Italia in Reading’s Oracle Riverside.

Open daily from 11.30am, its menu includes pasta and pizzas, with options for vegetarians, vegans and those on a gluten-free diet.

Until Thursday, January 30, it is offering main meals for just £5.

The dishes are all pasta based from it’s a La Carte menu.

The menu includes Pollo Funghi (pasta with chicken and mushrooms), lasagne, Spicy Sausage, and Spaghetti and Meatballs.

You can even try the Gameroni, Beef Tortellini, or Marco Polo dishes with a supplement of £2.

Its website states: “Whether you’re a fan of the classics like Carbonara or eager to explore new flavours such as Pollo Cacciatore, we have something for everyone.”

To take advantage of the offer, people should say “£5 Pasta” to their waiter when ordering.

It is available all day from noon and there are some caveats: it is not valid with the set menu, it is for dine-in guests only. If there are extras, such as toppings, these need to be paid for in full. And it is only available for groups of up to 10.

It’s also possible to get a FREE main course from Bella Italia

Real bargain hunters will enjoy paying nothing for their main course, and that is exactly what is on offer for savvy diners eating at Bella Italia.

It is offering a free main course for people who sign up to its newsletter.

To take part, people need to log on to the company’s website, www.bellaitalia.co.uk.

A pop-up will appear inviting people to sign up for the newsletter and the free meal.

There are terms and conditions for this deal, and it is available for new subscribers only.

A three-course meal for children for just £1 at Bella Italia

A long-term offer sess children able to eat for £1 between 4pm and 6pm Sundays to Wednesdays, and all day on Thursdays.

This is for ages two to 11 and includes three courses plus a drink.

Options include Cheese Garlic Bread, Dough Bites, pasta with sources, pizzas, fish fingers, and Chicken Crunchies.

Get a pizza for £1 from Pizza Express this January

Pizza Express, which is also offering people the chance to enjoy a pizza for just £1 until January 30.

There are some caveats to this.

The main one is that you have to buy a pizza at full price to get the second for £1. It is not valid with any other offers, nor does it qualify for the PizzaExpress Club Rewards.

The pizzas can only be from the Classic or Leggera menu.

The Classic menu includes a new recipe Margerita, which has added garlic and fresh herbs. Its La Reine pizza comprises Ham, black olives, mushrooms, mozaarella and tomato, while its Fiorentina is known as the ‘egg and spinach’ one as it contains a baked egg in the middle of the dough.

The Leggara pizzas have a salad hole in the middle, and a third fewer calories.

All Classic pizzas can be made on a gluten-free basis, with a purple pizza slicer provided so customers can have confidence that their meal has been made accordingly.

People need to sign up in advance by logging on to Pizza Express’ website and completing the form: https://www.pizzaexpress.com/reading-oracle-shopping-centre/offers/offer-details?rid=1C4687883E5A4A3B9CEFD087C49C1D04
