Chesney Hawkes ready for dazzling Newbury show … but hurry, only 40 tickets remaining

1990s pop star coming to Arlington Arts Centre on Thursday, March 20

Famous for his hit record The One and Only, Chesney Hawkes was a sensation back in the 1990s… and he’s still touring today.

The star is preparing for a One and Only night at Newbury’s Arlington Arts Centre later this month. Organisers are warning people to be quick as there are just 40 tickets left for a night of nostalgia.

MORE CHEESELOGS: Woodley Café: a new ‘greasy spoon’ that’s spotless

Not only did he have a mega hit with The One and Only, Chesney Hawkes has also been blessed with film star good looks and boy next door charm.

Three decades on, and now certifiably the kind of bloke you’d love to have a pint with, he has obtained national treasure status.

What can audiences expect when Chesney Hawkes performs at Arlington Arts Centre?

Chesney is kick-starting a new stage in his career and is introducing himself to brand new audiences.

The evening will include his new single Get A Hold Of Yourself. This is Chesney Hawkes’ first all-new music in more than a decade and is taken from his forthcoming album due out later this year.

Premiered on BBC Radio 2, Get A Hold Of Yourself finds Chesney applying that famous voice to a classic, high energy pop-rock sound – but he says it comes with a bright modernist edge that brings him back up to date without losing the essence of what he’s best known for.

Lyrically it’s brave enough to declare this is who I am and I’m not changing for anyone: a message that makes it feel like a grown-up sequel to his biggest hit.

It’s a bold reintroduction to his talents, and one that will set him on the path to a long overdue next chapter, with the official video showing Chesney as you’ve never seen him before… baring all…
