A British jazz legend who has worked with some of the biggest names in music is bringing a show to Pangbourne.

Derek Nash has worked with the likes of Tom Jones, Eric Clapton, David Sanborn, Jack Bruce, Amy Winehouse, Michael Buble and Sir Paul McCartney.

He has also been a member of the Jools Holland Rhythm & Blues Orchestra since 2004 and is also a member of the Ronnie Scott’s Blues Explosion.

Nash is incredibly busy.

Not only is he a composer, arranger, record producer and engineer, but he is also leading six different bands, each with its own sound and featuring some of the UK’s best jazz musicians.

As a producer, he received a gold disc for his work with Jamie Cullum for his Pointless Nostalgic album.

He has recorded with some of the leading UK jazz artists, including Stan Tracey, Bobby Wellins, Georgie Fame, George Melly, Alan Barnes, Geoff Gascoyne and Digby Fairweather.

The concert is at Pangbourne Working Men’s Club in Whitchurch Road on Sunday, August 10.

He will be backed by the Terry Hutchins Quartet.
