If there is ever a person to teach the world to sing it’s Gareth Malone. The ever-popular choir master is hitting to the road this autumn with a brand new live production designed to get audiences singing together.

Following his previous theatrical tour, the television presenter and conductor is launching Sing-A-Long-A-Gareth: At The Movies.

The production will travel across the United Kingdom during October and November, focusing on well-known musical moments from cinema history.

What can people expect at Sing-A-Long-A-Gareth: At The Movies?

The production features a selection of music from classic films and modern favourites.

Audiences can expect to hear selections from Singin’ in the Rain, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Saturday Night Fever, Top Gun, and La La Land, alongside a medley of James Bond themes.

The show also incorporates family film soundtracks including Frozen, Moana, and Sing.

Gareth will be supported on stage by a band, professional singers, and local choirs from each area.

The tour aims to replicate the community choir format that Gareth has popularised through his various television broadcasts. No previous singing experience is required to attend the interactive event.

Gareth will visit several venues. While these don’t include Reading, he will be stopping at nearby theatres, including G Live in Guildford and the Wycombe Swan in High Wycombe. There will also be performances in Oxford and London.

Gareth says: “I’m thrilled to be whisking you away to the movies for a night celebrating the power of song. We’ll raise the roof together one more time in a night of Oscars-inspired fun and laughter.

“Don’t miss out on this chance to sing your heart out.”

Who is Gareth Malone?

Gareth first came to public prominence on BBC television in the award-winning documentary series The Choir. He has subsequently featured in numerous broadcast spin-offs, including The Choir: Military Wives, Sing While You Work, and The Naked Choir.

His projects have achieved three Number Ones, including recordings with the Military Wives Choir and the All-Star Choir for Children in Need.

He was appointed an OBE in 2012 for his services to music, is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music, and holds an honorary doctorate from the University of East Anglia.

When is Sing-A-Long-A-Gareth: At The Movies coming to Reading, and how can I get tickets?

The interactive film music tour isn’t coming to Reading in this tour. Instead, Gareth Malone will visit G Live on London Road in Guildford on Wednesday, 18 November 2026. He will also visit the Wycombe Swan on St Mary Street in High Wycombe on Saturday, 21 November 2026.

For those willing to travel further afield, the tour calls at the New Theatre in Oxford on Sunday, 22 November 2026 and Cadogan Hall in London on Sunday, 29 November 2026.
