A taste of Vienna is coming to Maidenhead this summer thanks to St John’s Ensemble and soprano Elisabeth Cullen.
The musicians are teaming up for a summer recital featuring two of Mozart’s most celebrated chamber works.
The programme includes the G minor Quartet, known for its dark and intense quality, and the Kegelstatt Trio, reputedly composed during a game of skittles.
These will be complemented by Schubert’s eloquent Duo and a selection of his final songs.
Soprano Elisabeth Cullen, a Santander Universities UK Award holder currently studying voice with Mary Nelson at the Royal Academy of Music, will be a featured performer.
Cullen is a sought-after soloist and recitalist, having performed with groups such as the Marlow Choral Society and appeared at the Hurley Music and Arts Festival. She also holds the position of Solo Cantor at St Mary’s Church, Cadogan Street, London.
Joining Cullen will be the St John’s Ensemble, comprised of Ron Colyer (violin), Susan Black (viola), Paul Cox (cello), and Caroline Owen (clarinet).
