Arlington Arts Centre reveals exciting new season of live entertainment

A packed new season of events has been unveiled at Arlington Arts Centre in Newbury, promising an eclectic mix of live music, theatre, comedy, and visual art.

Running from September to December, the autumn programme showcases everything from blues legends and folk favourites to festive family shows and spine-tingling theatre.

Music lovers can look forward to the return of Blues titans Paul Jones and Dave Kelly on Thursday, 5 September, with more guitar-driven performances from UK blues rock favourites When Rivers Meet on Thursday, 3 October and King King on Thursday, 10 October.

Tribute fans will enjoy nights with The Dung Beatles on Thursday, 14 November, and Pink by Vicky Jackson on Friday, 22 November, both bringing the sounds of iconic acts to the Arlington stage.

Folk fans are in for a treat with Benji Kirkpatrick (of Bellowhead fame) and his project Bendrix on Wednesday, 6 November, followed by a seasonal set from folk trio The Young’Uns on Friday, 13 December.

In theatre, a chilling new adaptation of Frankenstein comes to life on Tuesday, 1 October, while award-nominated actor Gerard Logan shares three eerie tales in Hauntings on Wednesday, 30 October.

There’s something for families too — The Zoo That Comes To You on Saturday, 16 November is perfect for animal lovers, while Santa’s Christmas Party brings festive fun on Christmas Eve – Tuesday 24 December.

Comedy highlights include interactive cult hit Solve-Along-A Murder, She Wrote on Saturday, 7 September, and stand-up shows from Stephen K Amos on Friday, 25 October, and physical comedy performer Kit Loyd with Frenzy on Thursday, 7 November.

Meanwhile, artist Jill Hobbs exhibits her new collection Beyond The Surface throughout September and October. The show opens Monday, 8 September, exploring themes of portraiture, nature, and her love of water.

For festive ballet fans, Ballet Theatre UK returns by popular demand with A Christmas Carol on Saturday 6 and Sunday, 7 December.
