Award-winning comedian Helen Bauer is preparing to bring her latest show, Bless Her, to Reading.

It explores a year that Helen Bauer spent being stuck with someone she doesn’t like – and sadly for her, the feeling is mutual. This means things turn uncomfortable and tense, but it’s also ripe for comedy that is both relatable and incisive.

Bless Her tackles awkward relationships, binge-eating and the inner-child conversations we all avoid.

The set combines raw honesty with emotional depth and fast-paced, energetic delivery.

Critics have praised the show: Broadway Baby wrote, “Everyone needs to hear what Bauer has to say,” the Evening Standard described it as “relatable and unique… sharp, incisive and no holds barred,” and Chortle called Bauer “a force of nature… at the top of her comedic game”.

Audiences can expect an evening of confessional, high-octane comedy that blends insight, vulnerability and laughter in equal measure.

Helen Bauer grew up in Fleet, Hampshire, and developed her comedy in London and Berlin before returning to the UK.

She made her Edinburgh Fringe debut in 2019 with Little Miss Baby Angel Face, earning a Best Newcomer nomination.

She is now a familiar face on television, appearing on Live at the Apollo (BBC Two), 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4), Am I Being Unreasonable? (BBC One) and Extraordinary (Disney+).

Helen Bauer is also co-host of the award-winning podcast Trusty Hogs.
