Punk rock legends will descend on Reading this weekend as Bristol street-punk band Disorder prepare to make their Ding debut when they headline the Face Bar. And music fans are in for a treat as they will be joined by a stellar lineup of Healthy Junkies, Lady Rage, and Tape It Shut.

Formed in the early 1980s, Disorder were at the heart of the UK’s protest punk movement, aligning with politically charged acts and spearheading the Bristol scene alongside Chaos UK.

Known for their frenzied energy and uncompromising sound, they became cult heroes among punk fans worldwide, particularly in Japan, where they’ve toured extensively.

BBC DJ John Peel famously said Disorder’s early singles sounded “like Triumph Bonneville motorbikes”, a compliment that captured their raw, revved-up sound.

But despite their worldwide fame, this Reading date marks their first-ever show in the town: they have never performed in the town before.

Joining them on the bill are London’s Healthy Junkies, fronted by French-born singer Nina Courson and guitarist Phil Honey-Jones.

Since forming in 2010, they’ve carved a reputation for their theatrical live shows and a sound that blends punk attitude with glam rock swagger and psychedelic edges. With multiple albums, European tours, and a loyal underground fanbase, they’ve become one of the UK’s most distinctive alternative acts.

Also performing are Lady Rage, who channel metal, punk and riot grrrl influences into a furious live assault. The four-piece have released eight singles and their debut album Hear Me Screaming, which has earned praise from Metal Hammer and Viva Le Rock for its energy and unflinching honesty.

Opening the night are Reading locals Tape It Shut, stalwarts of the town’s grassroots punk scene, bringing their trademark blend of grit and urgency to set the tone for a night of unrelenting noise.
