Families are invited to explore Reading town centre later this month as a free half-term activity trail gets underway.

Running from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November, the Autumn Adventure Trail encourages children and parents to hunt for hidden acorns displayed in shop windows across the town centre.

Participants will navigate using a dedicated trail map, keeping an eye out for special golden acorns scattered along the route. Those who count the total number of golden acorns can submit an online competition entry form for the opportunity to win a prize.

Free printed trail guides will be available to collect from customer service and reception desks across the town centre, including Reading Central Library, Reading Museum, and Broad Street Mall. The map will also be available to download and print at home ahead of setting off.

Organisers are encouraging trail-goers to share their discoveries by tagging @visitrdg in photos on social media as they complete the route.

When is Reading’s Autumn Adventure Trail coming to Reading, and how can I get tickets?

The Autumn Adventure Trail runs daily throughout Reading town centre from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November 2026.

The route covers shop windows across central Reading, with printed trail guides available from Reading Central Library on Abbey Square, Reading Museum in Blagrave Street, and the Broad Street Mall customer service desk on Broad Street, Reading, RG1 7QE.

Taking part in the trail is free, and no advance booking or tickets are required.

Trail maps can be downloaded and competition entries submitted online by visiting visit-reading.com/autumntrail.
