Reading Lantern Parade
Saturday, December 7 at 4:15 PM – 6:00 PM
The Reading Lantern Parade invites people to walk in candlelight through the town centre to enjoy a musical finale outside the town hall.
Participants with lanterns can meet outside Blue Collar Street Food in Hosier Street from 4.15pm.
Those taking part who do not have a lantern can meet from the Oxford Road end of Broad Street at 5pm.
The procession will head along St Mary’s Butts, meeting those who have gathered at Broad Street before walking down it towards Reading Town Hall in Blagrave Street.
It will move at a slow pace, meaning the event is suitable for all ages.
It will be headed up by drummers and large sculptural lanterns.
Reading Lantern Parade is organised by Reading’s Business Improvement Districts, REDA, Beautiful Creatures Theatre and Jelly.
The event is supported by Reading Borough Council and Broad Street Mall.
