Woodley Concert Band is 50 years old.
Founded in 1974 and delighting audiences in Berkshire, around the UK and even internationally ever since, we’re taking the opportunity to celebrate 50 years of high quality music-making with a fabulous anniversary concert, full of music with a link to the occasion.
Whether it’s music you’ve loved listening to over the years, the first piece we ever played, or something connected to our ‘golden’ anniversary, the concert will be jam-packed with great tunes and promises to be a brilliant celebration and a fantastic evening’s entertainment.
The diverse programme will include:
- George Gershwin: I Got Rhythm and Someone to Watch Over Me
- Marvin Hamlisch: What I Did for Love and One from A Chorus Line
- Holst: Jupiter from Planets Suite
- Philip Sparke: Prelude to a Pageant, originally commissioned by the band to celebrate our 40th anniversary ten years ago.
