Loads of laughs planned as Honk! returns to Henley

Henley comedy regulars Honk! is planning to make people laugh with not one but three top shows coming up over the next few weeks.

First up: Honk! on Thursday, April 24

Mary O’Connell is the headliner for the April 24 Honk! night.

She has written for The Emily Atack Show on ITV2, and The Now Show on Radio 4, and has been the support to her comedy hero Tig Notaro.

Her performance style is a mix of observational annoyance combined with a left-field view of the world that makes for hilarious and sometimes absurd material.

And she is not just a pretty good gagmeister, she has a Masters in film studies.

Mary O’Connell can also be seen on the Only Fans Comedy Creative fun show on OFTV

Joining her will be Canadian comedian Greg Houston.

Greg has been delighting audiences across Canada and the UK since 2012. Born in Toronto, raised in rural Ontario, he grew his first beard in the capital of Canada. He recently moved to London to eat all of its biscuits.

He is returning to Henley ahead of his new show, described as a “part fish out of water, part the water is poison get that fish outta there!” story. Jokes about mental health, love, death, and fitting in.

Also on the bill is Emma Plowright, a Cambridge Footlights graduate and regular on the London stand-up scene.

She likes making jokes that shouldn’t logically be funny (and sometimes aren’t). She doesn’t have any awards or nominations to put here but she does have a really good shampoo recommendation for anyone else who suffers with a moderately dry scalp.

The April 24 comedy night takes place at The Relais in Hart Street, Henley. Tickets cost from £11.55, and need to be booked in advance as they regularly sell out.
