Reading Town Hall Organ Heritage Open Day: Hear and Play the famous ‘Father’ Willis Organ

This year’s Heritage Open Day is bigger and better to celebrate the Royal College of Organists’ Play the Organ Year 2025.

Visitors can spend the whole day or drop in at any time to enjoy a variety of organ events.

The day includes an illustrated introductory talk, a lunchtime recital, an opportunity for non-players to ‘have-a-go’ on the famous ‘Father’ Willis Town Hall organ, and a masterclass with concert organist Tom Bell.

Additionally, there will be specialist talks from organ builders and consultants.

The event is a collaboration with several organ associations and is suitable for both existing organists and curious newcomers.

Welcome at 10.30am. Lunchtime Recital at 1pm. ‘Have-a-go’ session at 2pm. Masterclass at 3.15pm.
