RABBLE Dazzle celebration of the Roaring Twenties 100 years on thanks to stunning Hilton takeover

Theatre group to showcase performances from Danyl Johnson, Dani Davies, Chris Mitchell, John McLaughlin and Jill-Marie Tait

The RABBLE Dazzle will be a one-night only experience that sees the Roaring Twenties recreated 100 years on, thanks to Reading-based RABBLE Theatre.

The team will be taking over the Reading Hilton Hotel later this month for the unique immersive theatre experience that fuses entertainment with cocktails, food and fun.

The RABBLE Dazzle will see audiences join in the show as soon as they arrive at the Kennet Island venue.

Once inside, they will be able to enjoy a three-course meal and savour the skills of mixologist, which the RABBLE team say will capture the grandeur of English high society in the 1920s.

And while enjoying the meal, the RABBLE Dazzle will include live performances from Danyl Johnson, Dani Davies, Chris Mitchell, John McLaughlin and Jill-Marie Tait, music is going to be a big part of the evening, complementing the production, performed by Toby Davies, Mark Middleton and Jack Norris.

Toby Davies, artistic director of RABBLE Theatre, is looking forward to the show.

“We’ve produced shows in all sorts of extraordinary spaces, but this is something new,” he says.

“Audiences will be immersed in the production from the moment they step on the red carpet and get snapped by the adoring paparazzi.

“Honestly, we think that this is going to be something that people remember for a long time.”

What else can audiences expect at the RABBLE Dazzle?

Throughout the night, as part of the performance, there will be opportunities to win a range of extraordinary prizes, including

  • Two tickets to the opening night of Fiddler on the Roof at The Barbican with exclusive entry to the VIP Drinks reception and an overnight stay in The Hilton Tower Bridge
  • Two Weekend Passes to this year’s Reading Festival
  • Two signed Gyles Brandreth books
  • Family and Disco Thames River Cruises
  • A Siren Craft Brewery tour
  • Indulgent treats, family days out and plenty more…

Towards the end of the production, RABBLE promise to make an announcement that no local resident will want to miss.

Who are RABBLE Theatre?

Since 2012, RABBLE has been a key part of Reading’s cultural scene.

They have performed a range of original plays in unique locations, including the Abbey ruins and Reading Minster Church.

In addition to their performances, which have attracted rave reviews from national newspapers, they hold classes for people wanting to get on stage or learn more about the behind the scenes life of a theatre company. These are for all ages, as it runs a youth group for ages eight upwards.

Its Young Company Musical Theatre group will run a nine-week course for ages eight to 18.

Starting on January 17, and held at The Abbey School, it culminates in a performance of Matilda The Musical.
