Richard Ashcroft has been confirmed as the first headliner for Heritage Live Festivals’ return to Englefield Estate next summer.

The Verve frontman will top the bill on Friday, 24 July 2026, supported by a strong line-up featuring Shed Seven, Tom Meighan, and The Kairos.

The historic grounds near Reading will once again provide the backdrop to one of the county’s biggest outdoor concerts, having previously hosted Hozier, Madness, Elbow, The Beach Boys, Boy George & Culture Club, and many more.

Richard Ashcroft: A career of anthems

Richard Ashcroft, a two-time Ivor Novello Award winner, first found fame with The Verve, whose 1997 album Urban Hymns is still the UK’s 18th biggest-selling record.

Singles including Bitter Sweet Symphony, The Drugs Don’t Work, Sonnet and Lucky Man remain staples of his live shows.

Since then, Ashcroft has gone on to release five solo Top 5 albums, including the Number One debut Alone With Everybody and 2021’s Acoustic Hymns.
