The Whiteknights Ensemble is to perform its first chamber music concert of 2026, which will take place in Shinfield on Saturday, 7 March.

Formed in 2017, the ensemble is a chamber group made up of musicians from various local orchestras.

Based in Earley, the group takes its name from Whiteknights Park, the former manorial land of the De Erleigh family, which now serves as the University of Reading campus.

The upcoming programme features a diverse range of repertoire, including Trio for Flute, Viola and Bassoon Op. 6 by Malcolm Arnold, performed by Debbie King, Kat Hatton and Ruth Newton-Griffiths.

Also on the programme is Trio in B flat major for Clarinet, Cello and Piano Op. 11 by Ludwig van Beethoven, featuring Sarah Barrett, Chris Barrett and Claire Hansell.

The final piece is the Clarinet Quintet in F sharp minor Op. 10 by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, performed by Sarah Barrett, Mel Le Breuilly, Chico Chakravorty, Michael Eisinger and Chris Barrett.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to The OHMI Trust. This charity works to enable children and adults with physical impairments to participate in music-making by providing adapted instruments.

A family ticket option is available for those attending with children.
