An Eagles tribute band will once again be checking in to Reading, performing a multitude of hits including Hotel California.

The Illegal Eagles celebrate the 1971 formation of the West Coast country rock band, and will once again be bringing to The Hexagon their musical prowess, acute attention to detail and incredible showmanship.

While they won’t be on stage until June 2025, such is the demand that the Reading Arts box office has already opened for people wanting to get tickets for the show.

Formed in 1998, the latest all-star line-up, produced as ever by Phil Aldridge, features Tony Kiley (formerly from The Blow Monkeys) on drums, Trevor Newnham (Dr Hook) vocals and bass, Greg Webb vocals and guitars, Mike Baker, vocals and guitars and Garreth Hicklin, vocals and guitars.

The quartet effortlessly capture the vocal style and delivery of Eagles band members Henley, Walsh, Fry, Schmidt and Meisner, and are masters of their respective instruments.

The power-house rhythm section of Kiley and Newnham has added a dimension that is sensitive to the subtle needs of the Eagles’ songs and kicks hard where necessary.

This critically acclaimed show features the very best from the Eagles’ catalogue of classics including Desperado, Take It Easy, New Kid In Town, and Life In The Fast Lane, among others.

The Eagles were formed in Los Angeles in 1971 by Glenn Frey and Don Henley.

With five number-one singles, six number one albums, six Grammy awards and five American Music awards, the Eagles were one of the most successful musical acts in the 1970s.

The Eagles have since gone on to become one of the world’s best-selling bands, having sold more than 200 million records, including 100 million albums sold in the US alone.

Their incredible songbook lives on in The Illegal Eagles, in a memorable evening featuring over two hours of classic country rock hits.

The show is at The Hexagon on Thursday, June 19, from 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £40.
