Woodley Concert Band’s Christmas double in high demand

Woodley Concert Band loves Christmas so much they have not one but two concerts.

Both take place in Woodley on Sunday, December 15, with the afternoon show suitable for children.

But … the hour-long matinee performance has sold out, meaning only tickets for the evening remain.

The Concert features lots of Christmas music.

The band promise popular festive tunes, cosy fireside winter warmers and plenty of carols which the audience can join in with.

They also say they will be in full-on Christmas mode, and there will be plenty of fun too.

More than 300 tickets have been sold for the children’s concert, and the band said they cannot accept anyone without a ticket.

Those who are fortunate enough to have secured a seat are promised a show that includes opportunities to join in by shaking and jingling, while band members will help explain what audiences should look out for, what they can hear, and how a concert works.

Woodley Concert Band’s team promise lots of fun as they share the magic of live music.

The programme includes music from the Super Mario Bros video game.

Unfortunately, they cannot accommodate extra tickets for this show due to limits on capacity in the venue.

However, tickets for the evening show remain available. This starts at 7pm and takes place at Bulmershe School in Woodley.

Entry costs £14 per person, or £12 for concessions – those aged 65 or over, or 16 or under.

The band also operates a scheme where those who have not attended a Woodley Concert Band concert before can attend for free. The First Timers policy must be booked in advance, with the cut-off point being 5pm on Friday, December 13.

The band says: “We’re passionate about our music-making and we believe that if you come along to enjoy one of our performances, you’ll get as excited as we are and hopefully come back to see future concerts”.

Those taking advantage need to commit to joining its mailing list.

Such tickets must be booked by calling the box office, they cannot be booked online.

What’s next for Woodley Concert Band?

The band won’t be resting on its figgy pudding for very long as they have already announced the date for their spring concert.

This will take place from 7pm on Saturday, March 15.

Again, the venue is to be Bulmershe School.

Entry costs £14 per person, or £12 for concessions – those aged 65 or over, or £5 for 16 or under.

Its First Timers Scheme will also be in place for this concert.
