Happy new year for Honk! as comedy club plans an hilarious 2025

Comedy club Honk! is preparing for 2025 by setting a date … from January, its shows will be held on the last Thursday of the month.

And to kick off the new year in hilarious fashion, they will welcome Edinburgh Award winner Elf Lyons – ranked by the Telegraph as one of the 50 funniest comedians of this century.

She is a clown and theatre practitioner with more than 10 years of experience working as a professional comedian.

Elf spends her months touring internationally with her solo shows and directing and teaching artists all over the world.

In 2024 Elf received 12 ★★★★★ reviews and a sell out run of her show Horses at the Edinburgh Fringe. She was awarded the (ISH) Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show, the Comedian’s Choice Award for Best Show and the Mervyn Stutter ‘Spirit of the Fringe’ Award. For her show Raven she was awarded Best Show at the Reykjavik Fringe, Iceland and was awarded Best Comedy at the Adelaide Fringe, Australia.

Originally from London, Elf says she aims to create work that pushes the relationship between comedy, theatre and performance art.

And she feels she has been lucky to work on creative projects with the Barbican, the British Library, the London Science Museum, the Royal Society of Literature and the City of London to name a few.

Also on the bill will be Daniel McKeon (BBC New Comedy Show) and Dee Allum (Edinburgh).

Dee Allum

Dee Allum is an award-winning stand-up comedian and writer. She has been nominated for Best Newcomer at the Chortle Awards, placed as runner up in the Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year award 2021, won the 2Northdown New Act Competition 2021 and was a finalist in the 2022 BBC New Comedy Award competition.

Daniel McKeon

Daniel is a laidback, self-effacing storyteller who’s featured on the BBC New Comedy Show.

Evaldas Karosas

After rising to prominence in his native Lithuania, Evaldas Karosas moved to the UK where he won multiple competitions and established himself as a unique comic voice. His strong and persuasive style of writing is held up by deft well-timed delivery that keeps the audience constantly guessing on where the next laugh is coming from. Beat The Frog World Series winner, Cheshire Cat New Act of the Year – Winner, Manford’s New Act of the Year finalist.

Kitty Pilgrim-Morris

Kitty Pilgrim-Morris is an award-winning theatre-maker and founder of @redpatchproductions. Her show, The Trying Rooms, had a successful run at Camden and Birmingham Fringe Festivals during the 2024 season, winning the award for Best New Piece in Birmingham.
