Andy Panayi is a multi-award-winning musician, celebrated for his exceptional talent in saxophone and flute performance, composition, and arrangement. He leads his own ensembles in both jazz and classical music and has crafted numerous commissioned works.

Andy Panayi has a passion for education

Beyond the stage, Andy Panayi is a respected educator, working with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and Trinity College London to develop jazz and classical syllabi. He is a professor at The Royal College of Music, The Royal Academy of Music, and Birmingham Conservatoire, mentoring the next generation of jazz talent.

Events coming up at Pangbourne Jazz Club

The Pangbourne Jazz Club meets on the first Sunday of every month, with a top musician coming each time.

In addition to Andy Panayi’s visit on Sunday, February 2, these are the forthcoming attractions who will perform:

  • Sunday, March 2: Mark Nightingale on Trombone. He is an internationally acclaimed jazz soloist, highly respected writer and arranger and one of the most in demand studio musicians in the world
  • April 6: Roger Beaujolais on Vibraphone. He is a highly acclaimed and much in demand vibraphone virtuoso.
  • May 3: Simon Bates on Saxphone. Renowned for his awesome technique and versatility, Simon is as at home leading bands on TV shows as he is in a local jazz club.
  • June 1: Alex Clarke on Saxophone. Since reaching the final of the BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2020, Alex is known to be one of the most in-demand saxophonists on the Jazz scene.
