She didn’t quite make the final of Last One Laughing, and now she’s hoping you will be the ones having a laugh: Maisie Adam is coming to Reading this autumn with her new show Whatsherface.
And if you can’t make the 7 November date in the Concert Hall, don’t fret as the Taskmaster Champion will be coming back to the area on 25 February next year, with a gig at The Anvil in Basingstoke.
Tickets for both gigs are already on sale.
What is Whatsherface about?
Whatsherface is a follow-up to Maisie Adam’s sell-out tour last year.
It stems from a genuine description of her given by her best friend’s Mum at a recent wedding: The ‘tall, chaotic one with the weird hair’.
She will deliver her trademark wit and firecracker gags, and probably a few angry outbursts along the way.
Maisie has had an incredibly exciting, rapid rise through the comedy ranks becoming a household name in just a few years, including scooping the winner’s crown in a recent Taskmaster series, and valiantly trying not to chuckle in the second series of the UK version of Last One Laughing, currently airing on Amazon Prime.
She has also starred on: C4’s The Last Leg and The Big Fat Quiz Of The Year, multiple times on BBC’s Have I Got News For You and Sky’s A League Of Their Own. She is also a regular participant of ITV’s Soccer Aid for UNICEF and her TV special Appraisal is available on Sky and NOW TV.
More about Maisie Adam
Maisie’s comedy career kicked off when she won the So You Think You’re Funny? Award (previously won by Peter Kay, Aisling Bea and Tom Allen). The following year she was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. Her anecdotal material and witty charm quickly won her high praise and she quickly went on to appear on many TV shows including BBC’s Mock The Week, QI andC4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats.
Away from the stand-up stage, she is co-host of the Big Kick Energy football podcast, with Suzi Ruffell, which won Sports Podcast Of The Year at the Broadcast Sport Awards 2023.
She solidified her role as “professional Lionesses fan” when she hosted the BBC’s Fan Diary podcast, following the Lionesses’ road to success for the second time at last summer’s Euros.
Alongside Jill Scott, Maisie is currently hosting C4’s coverage of Women’s FA Cup football beginning with Jill And Maisie’s Road To Wembley and Maisie and Jill will be presenting the FA Cup Final at Wembley in May.
