Tiny Tim: Theatre’s search for talented young actors for festive role

Reading Rep Theatre is inviting Reading’s youngsters to audition for the role of Tiny Tim in its festive production of A Christmas Carol.

The theatre is looking for three young performers, aged nine to 11 and currently in primary school years five or six, to share the part.

Auditions will take place in Reading Rep’s Learning Space on the afternoon of Saturday 27 September, led by children’s casting director Louis Ling.

Louis said: “We’re looking for boys and girls aged nine to 11, currently in primary school years 5 or 6, who love acting to come and audition to be our Tiny Tim this September.

“We can’t wait to meet you, and see your personality and acting skills shine in a fun and relaxed audition session.”

The new staging of Beth Flintoff’s five-star adaptation relocates Dickens’ story to Reading and the Huntley and Palmers Biscuit Factory.

The show, directed by Chris Cumings, runs from Friday, 28 November 2025 to Saturday, 3 January 2026, following previous sell-out runs in 2021 and 2022.

The production runs from Friday 28 November 2025 to Saturday 3 January 2026 at Reading Rep Theatre on King’s Road, Reading.
