He’s been performing for more than 25 years, and he’s about to embark on his biggest tour yet, with Reading one of the stop-off points.
Paul Chowdhry, hot on the heels on an intimate show in London, is to take his new show, Englandia to venues across the country from the spring next year.
There are 33 venues on the tour, including two major arena shows at Birmingham Utlilia Arena and London The O2.
He will be visiting The Hexagon in March, and tickets are already on sale.
“After more than a quarter of a century and half my life on comedy stages, it’s time to embark on my biggest tour ever,” he said.
“I hope to see you there – the audiences who made this dream possible.
“If not, I’ll be in massive debt and doing benefit gigs for the foreseeable future.”
Said to be the most successful British Indian stand-up comedian in the country’s history, Paul’s career is marked by numerous accolades and groundbreaking achievements.
His previous tour, Family-Friendly Comedian, ran from 2021 to 2023, and had three extensions due to overwhelming demand, culminating in a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year, where it earned rave reviews and ratings ranging from four to five stars.
This follows Live Innit, another record-breaking tour that saw Paul perform five nights at the Hammersmith Apollo and become the first British-Asian stand-up to sell out London’s Wembley Arena.
His talent has earned him prestigious awards, including Best Live Event at the ITV Asian Media Awards, Comedian of the Year at the Asian Voice Awards, and the Eastern Eye Comedian of the Year award.
Indeed, The Eastern Eye described him as “the greatest British Asian comedian of all time”.
Away from the microphone, he is also an actor.
Appearances have included a role in the series Devils.
He also pops up on television comedy shows including Stand Up for the Week, Live at the Apollo and the multi-award nominated show Taskmaster.
He also hosts his own podcast The Paul Chowdhry PudCast, interviewing celebrities on life’s turning points. Guestshave included Russell Howard, London Hughes and Stewart Lee.
Paul’s influence extends online and he maintains a vibrant social media presence with his videos amassing millions of views.
Englandia will be performed by Paul Chowdhry at The Hexagon on Friday, March 14, from 7.30pm. The show is suitable for audiences aged 14 upwards.
Tickets cost £28.50, £36, and £48.50.
There is also a VIP package costing £98.50.
