SykesMartin brings harmonies to the Nettlebed Folk CLub
The next performance in the series takes place this coming Monday, 16 February, featuring the exciting new collaboration SykesMartin.
Comprising Miranda Sykes (Show of Hands) and Hannah Martin (Edgelarks and Gigspanner Big Band), the duo brings together two of the finest voices in British folk.
The pair first discovered their instinctive ear for harmony while playing together in Steve Knightley’s Wake the Union band.
Following a casual winter session in Devon, they developed a sound that blends deep roots knowledge with skilled improvisation on double bass, fiddle, and banjo.
This show offers a rare chance to hear their shared musical heritage in an intimate setting.
Steve Knightley and Cara Dillon join spring schedule
Looking ahead, the club has added new dates for two of the genre’s heavyweights.
On Monday, 30 March, folk legend Steve Knightley returns for a unique solo performance.
The former Show of Hands frontman will revisit his most iconic narratives alongside material from his latest album.
On Monday, 20 April, multiple award-winning Irish singer Cara Dillon will take the stage accompanied by producer and musician Sam Lakeman.
Known for a crystalline vocal style and a deep connection to traditional song, Dillon’s performance promises an evening of exceptional warmth and musicality.
