Britain’s Got Talent finalist Daliso Chaponda is set to bring his latest stand-up show to Maidenhead this month.
Daliso Chaponda: Topical Storm arrives at the Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Friday 13 March.
The show is described as a response to the “absurd, chaotic and overwhelming” nature of modern headlines. Rather than just discussing specific news items, Chaponda explores the nature of news itself, examining journalists, bloggers, fake news, and whether modern reporting is polarising society.
The performance features the sharp one-liners and thought-provoking punchlines that have made him a staple on programmes such as Have I Got News For You and Radio 4’s News Quiz.
Chaponda shot to fame during the 2017 series of Britain’s Got Talent and has since become a digital sensation, amassing over 300 million views of his stand-up online.
He is also the creator of the Rose d’Or nominated BBC Radio 4 show Citizen of Nowhere.
