Darts fans could hit the jackpot if they are the person to throw a dart in a billion at Reading’s new bar, Flight Club.
Opened in Station Hill last month, the social darts bar fuses the popular sport with cocktails and food for a night out with a real difference. Rather than encouraging people to play 501 darts, there is a range of fun games to play with no previous experience necessary.
Computer technology keeps score, tallying how many arrows have been thrown.
Now, Flight Club is preparing to hit a mega milestone … and it could happen this weekend.
The bar’s live Dartometer recently ticked past 999,000,000, meaning it is just a few million throws away from hitting a historic one billion darts: the billion-dart countdown is entering the endgame.
The target is expected to be passed this week, and whoever throws the billionth dart will receive the prize of a lifetime, while everyone else will receive a free drink.
There is a five-star trip for four up for grabs: the winner can take their family or friends to any Flight Club destination, including Vegas, Sydney, Chicago, Boston, Dublin, Perth … or even Reading if they wish.
And the winner can get a Gold Card, allowing them and 11 friends to play Social Darts for free for the rest of their lives.
It’s not just the winner that benefits: when the one billionth dart hits, every single Flight Club venue, including Reading, will enjoy a massive celebration with free drinks all round for everyone in the building.
Until then, instant bar tabs, complimentary prosecco, and free sessions are being triggered daily as part of the countdown excitement.
A live countdown has been placed on the Flight Club website at: flightclubdarts.com/one-billion-darts
