Human fireworks are promised when comedian Josh Glanc comes to Reading’s South Street later this month.

The funnyman is currently touring the UK with his latest show Family Man.

The Aussie is travelling the world with the show, which received a nomination for Best Show at the 2024 Edinburgh Comedy Awards. Among the places he has visited has been Spain, Iceland, the US, his homeland Australia, and currently the United Kingdom.

The corporate lawyer turned oddball comic enjoy a residency at London’s Soho Theatre last autumn and US-based magazine Rolling Stone described him as the “human fireworks show’.

In the show the mustachioed Aussie silly-billy explains how he has escaped the rat race to find his people, but asks at what cost to his family life?

Through original music, photography, dance, electric crowd chemistry and a soundboard leant to him by Abandoman, he’s created a “wackily inventive absurdism all his own” (The Times).

For the show, the Perth Comedy Festival Critics’ Choice Award winner gives audiences an onslaught of the ridiculous where wonderfully silly songs, surreal stand-up and collusive, tender crowd-work which all combine to make people feel like a big, happy, hyperactive family.

The show is directed by John-Luke Roberts.

Channel 4 gives Josh Glanc fans a preview show

Family Man is also a Playground released on Channel 4’s streaming service.

Produced by Boffola and directed by Will Farrell, Josh’s Comedy Special Vrooom Vrooom was released in 2024 by Nashville record label 800 Pound Gorilla Records, and his accompanying album with original songs is available on Bandcamp.

And he has appeared on the Melbourne Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow, and was chosen for a prestigious spot at the Just for Laughs Festival in Austin.
