An evening of comedy for under a tenner … not a bad proposition. Add in the chance to see an up-and-coming comic, and it’s a bargain.

Tawny Owl is coming to South Street Arts Centre this autumn.

He blends rap, music and poetry with his jokes, meaning audiences will receive a surprise around every corner.

People have said the comic fuses acts such as The Mighty Boosh, Tim Minchin and Tim Key to create something that is ‘bizarre and delightful in equal measure’ and also ‘pure, unadulterated fun’.

The show is called The Adventures of Tawny Owl: A Musical Comedy Odyssey.

The blurb invites audiences to: “Get drawn into the surreal world of Tawny Owl as he takes you on a fantastical journey, blending fact and fiction in a high energy hour of comedy.”

If you want to get a taste for what to expect, Tawny Owl has a series of skits posted on his Instagram page, https://www.instagram.com/tawnyowlcomedy/

His Reading date is at South Street on Thursday, November 7, from 8pm.

Tickets cost £9.50.
